From there, three metal 3D printed models were developed (P2 - P4), each iterating on the scissor mechanism and grip design. Metal 3D printed models allowed for light functional testing of the knife and scissor mechanism. Ultimately, a stainless steel prototype was manufactured (V1) after a reliable mechanism was developed and the form factor of the knife was further solidified. The Version 1 knife allowed for real world durability testing and long term functional use testing.
